Both Eyal and Shirley have responded pointing me towards their LRG catalogs. Shirley's comes with a mask, Eyal's comes with a random catalog, so this might be a better place to start.
There are some slight issue with Alexia using these catalogs because she is not officially in SDSS or BOSS.... ahh politics.
Digging into the data today.

Reconstruction on LRGs
I talked to Alexia today and we decided that I should get the BOSS data together and run correlation functions on it, rather than continuing to de-bug the reconstruction binning. I'm a little frustrated with that problem, and it would be nice to work on something new. I know that both Shirley Ho and Eyal Kazin have LRG catalogs, so I am contacting both of them to see if they are available for me to use.
Also planning to visit Alexia in late October/ early November. Trying to find cheap housing in Los Alamos, if anyone knows of anything out there...

Bad Blogger
To the 3 people that actually read my blog (Alexia, mom and dad), I know I have been a really bad blogger lately. I've been writing a paper, and didn't have much to post about that... and then I was in Paris for a SDSS Collaboration meeting.
Anyway, the Fall 2010 semester has started (how did that happen?!?) and I plan to get back to regular posting. I also am hoping to work exclusively on the reconstruction project now that the likelihood paper is (almost) done.
Apologies again. Here are some plots from the paper for your entertainment (the colors look a little less weird in black on white, but I inverted the images to keep with the blog color scheme):
